MICHIGAN  FILM  INDUSTRY  MAGAZINE  FORMS  ALLIANCE  TO  MANAGE INCREASED  DEMAND  FOR  LOCAL  PRODUCTION  RESOURCE  ADVERTISING

WATERFORD, Mich. – January 28, 2009
– Hily Trevethan, publisher, Michigan VUE Magazine announced today that in response to the recent dramatic increase in local film and video production, the publication has tapped Lisa Lamont to manage advertising sales for its print and online editions.

ImageLamont, principal of Moxie Studios Public Relations, brings ten years of integrated media relations, advertising, marketing and film work to her freelance agreement with the VUE.  The solid relationships she has developed with agency, production and client executives and staff on a multitude of media projects contributes to VUE’s mission to collectively promote, celebrate and connect the talented craftspeople behind Michigan’s video production community.

“Lisa really understands the broadcast business, from all angles,” said Trevethan.  “We value the insight she brings from her various roles within agency, corporate and production settings.  She has a real passion for the success of creative production in Michigan, exemplified by her pro bono work for The Adcraft Club of Detroit and The D Council,” added Trevethan.

Lamont is credited as associate producer, writer and researcher for Adcraft’s “100 Years of Big Ideas” television special and as public relations representative for the Centennial Celebration and The D Show.  Since beginning her freelance career, she has worked on a dozen commercial productions while still maintaining an impressive roster of PR clients.

Lamont’s agency public relations experience includes positions at Webber Shandwick and (Hass) Manning, Selvage & Lee where she coordinated media events and programs for several General Motors’ brands.  Highlights of her agency career include the challenge of managing internal communications for GM’s Advanced Technology Vehicles division in the last days of the EV1 electric car and the four months she spent traveling across America as a spokesperson and media coordinator with Chevrolet during the 2002 Olympic Torch Relay and Olympic Games.  She became focused on the broadcast media side of PR while working with various vendors in the production of VNRs for many brand launches like Hummer, Saab and Pontiac and major events, including the anniversaries of Corvette, Buick and Cadillac as well as many, many long and loud NASCAR races.  Lamont was also a key member of the Proctor & Gamble Mr. Clean account team, responsible for securing media placement for consumer automotive products, with the help of the iconic bald man himself (actually a D-list actor who played him very convincingly).

A graduate of Western Michigan University, Lamont builds and nurtures her public relations business, production work and freelance editorial writing and art portfolio at the homes she shares with her husband and two dogs in Pleasant Ridge and Traverse City.

Michigan VUE Magazine is a bi-monthly publication with more than 10,000 estimated readers in the media arts industry and serves as Michigan’s premiere source for news and information regarding Michigan’s growing video production community.  For more information, visit www.michiganvue.com.
